Hi all, welcome to this month’s Presidents message.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas New Year with family, friends and cars? Our last event for 2025 was the Christmas party at Geebung RSL which went off very well. We had a good representation of Chrysler vehicles and the 40 plus members all enjoyed the company, festivities and food in a relaxed airconditioned venue on a typical hot Queensland day.
In January our club run was to the Bayside Vehicle Restorer’s Club (BVRC) car show at Ormiston College. A number of our club members volunteered to assist in this event as we have a reciprocal understanding whereby BVRC members assist us at Expo each year. A good example of clubs with similar interests helping each other for the benefit of all. We had a good showing of COCQ members cars representing Chrysler at an event supporting all makes and models. As usual it was a hot, sunny and muggy January day with a roll up of over 600 vehicles. The car show portion of the day event wraps up not long after 10.30am and is followed by a couple of runs to various venues.
While everyone was enjoying the club activities here in Queensland, Sue and I were on a 12 day bus tour through California, Arizona and Nevada followed by a 7 day cruise around Hawaii. Sounds pretty tough to handle I know but we fared really well. Everywhere we went I kept a close eye out for Chryslers from the motherland and there was heaps to see. We travelled part of the famed route 66 with many attractions and great little towns along the way. I’ve asked the editor to include a few photo’s from our trip detailing a few cars and a bit of humour along the journey.
We now prepare for our Christmas party to be held on the 13th of December at the Geebung RSL. I’m looking forward to having a relaxing catchup with friends catching up on all I’ve missed out on during my travels.
I want to thank our very supportive committee members who ran club events diligently during my absence, I won’t name names but you know who you are and I thank you whole heartedly for your contribution to our great club.
Stay safe and enjoy your Chrysler folks, cheers for now.
Greg Holburt COCQ Club President.
