President’s Message March 2025

Hi all, welcome to this month’s Presidents message.

In reading my blurb you may well notice that we are now doing newsletters every second month! in doing so we have reduced the workload of many contributors to the newsletter and we have produced a bumper 20 page edition! I hope you enjoy it.

Planning for the RACQ Motorfest is well underway and given it is 100 years since Walter P. Chrysler launched the Chrysler company in 1925, Chryslers will be the main attraction at the show. We ask everyone interested in presenting their Chrysler vehicle at the event to go online and register your vehicle. If people don’t have internet access, we can send you a paper form to fill in and send to RACQ.

Expo planning is also in full swing and I’m pleased to advise that April Maxwell and Neil Sweetman have put their hands up to assist, thank you kindly! The monthly Expo meeting precedes the regular meeting (Expo from 6.30pm and monthly meeting from 7.30pm on the 3rd Wednesday of the month) so come along and put your thoughts forward.

February’s run was to the Alexandra Hills Hotel for lunch after playing mini golf at the local putt-putt. Of significance at this lovely day out, we presented an Honorary Life Membership to Bruce Robinson, congratulations Bruce for your long standing efforts with our club.

March saw us return to Colmslie Park on Sunday the 16th for a barbeque lunch which incorporated our monthly club meeting. See more details and photos from the 2 recent runs in the following pages of the newsletter.

In April we hope to visit Brian and Wendy Palmer’s home for a barbeque lunch (to be confirmed). We also plan to photograph members’ cars for this years calendar which will be printed from July 2025 and run for 24 months. Members who can’t make the photo shoot may submit photos of their cars to the Newsletter Editor for inclusion in the calendar, space permitting.

We are planning a weekend away club run for May which may be to Stanthorpe area. This incorporates a decent run to an area with many attractions for the club members and partners alike. The wineries of the region and a host of local attractions will make a great weekend for sure. Stay tuned as the event details are sorted.

Well, I’ve got to move the Charger and do a wheel rotation using the hoist on Sue’s car. Any excuse to get the Charger out for a spin! Cheers.

Greg Holburt COCQ Club President.
