President’s Message October – November 2025

Hi all, welcome to this month’s Presidents message.

We recently held the President’s Day at our clubrooms in late August. It was a pleasant surprise to see the number of COCQ members attend along with a strong showing from other clubs. We were a little surprised by the attendance such that extra food items were hurriedly procured! A delicious BBQ lunch and drinks were enjoyed by all. I’m not sure how much was sold in the boot sale but I think it’s worth continuing the Presidents Day Boot Sale in coming years and trying to grow the event.

It’s been a very busy September with our 2025 Expo done and dusted for another year. This year’s event went off very smoothly although we did notice the crowd numbers were down a little on last year’s epic event. We assume this may have been caused by the Eliminator’s event being held on same day in nearby Beenleigh. There also seemed to be less motorcyclists attending compared to 2024. Either way it was a great day out with the main oval packed with vehicles, merchandise, various displays and plenty of food and drink outlets.

I must thank our many volunteers who provided their help on the day to make it a success, you are the lifeblood of the club and things just don’t happen without you. This thanks also goes to our volunteers from other clubs including the Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club, The R&S Valiant Club, Gold Coast-Tweed Chrysler Club and the Qld Chrysler Association folks. To show our appreciation, a free lunch will be provided to all volunteers on the October club run, details follow further in this edition.

A few days after EXPO we held our Annual General Meeting at the Tingalpa Hotel on Wednesday September 17th. A free meal was provided for all club members attending from 6pm and the meeting was held from 7.30pm. The event went well with a couple of new faces elected to the committee whilst many of the stalwarts stayed on in their previous role or moved “deck chairs” to assume another role. Again, my whole-hearted thank you to all who attended and those that took committee roles. I look forward to working with you all to progress the club over the coming year. The 2025/26 committee positions have been updated in the front pages of this newsletter reflecting the outcome of the AGM.

Rounding out September was Mopar Mayhem at Lakeside Park Kurwongbah from 11am. By all reports the event was well supported and it was great to see our COCQ photographer Bruce Garratt, running around the track in his 1970 Barracuda, nice one Bruce.

Stay safe and enjoy your Chrysler folks, cheers for now.

Greg Holburt COCQ Club President.
