Chrysler vehicles

Hi all, welcome to this month’s Presidents message.  I’ve been missing in action this month so I didn’t make the club meeting on the 16th or the club run on the 20th, I must do better!!  We were on a cruise to PNG which was great but Sue came home with Covid and I’m a bit under the weather also, we hope to be fit and well for the Christmas party.

It’s good to see that the Gatton run finally happened, by all reports everyone had a great time.  I notice in the photos the same regular members turning up for the run, thank you guys and girls for making the effort.  It’s a decent run out to Gatton and back, I’m sure a lot of cobwebs were blown away.

Whilst on the matter of club runs, I’ve been approached by the QCA club to perhaps go on joint runs in the future.  This may also include the Gold Coast-Tweed Club and the R&S club?  These people all share a common interest in Chrysler products and it may offer new and exciting opportunities to go on runs with liked-minded people?  Let me know your thoughts, is this a good thing or something you’re not fussed about, I’d like to know.

Please also note the recent changes to the SIV rules which now allow a 30-kilometre radius for test or maintenance runs, up from 15 kilometres previously.  This is a welcome change and gives members the ability to go a little further for your unscheduled run events.

We held the Expo volunteer lunch on November 5th at Easts Leagues Club where approximately 25 members enjoyed lunch and each other’s company.  I thank all volunteers who helped run Expo on the day, the more helpers we have the smoother the show runs.  We will start planning for Expo 2023 in February aiming for bigger and better.  Any ideas you might have to enhance the Expo experience are always welcome, don’t be shy!

The Christmas party is fast approaching scheduled for Sunday December 11th from 11.30am at the Nudgee Golf Club. To secure your seat at this event please send $20 deposit per person attending to our secretary or treasurer, this money will be fully refunded when you attend the lunch.  Make sure your payment mentions the Xmas party and your name so we can pay you back!

Once the Christmas party is done, the focus shifts to Christmas itself.  It’s a time for family, friends, and festivities.  I wish you all a happy and safe festive season, I hope Santa delivers for you and you all enjoy New Year’s Eve as we welcome in 2023.

I hope to see as many of you as possible enjoying our upcoming events and more importantly getting out in your Chrysler vehicles, cheers for now.
