Hi all, welcome to this month’s Presidents message. Well, another month has passed and another run had to be abandoned due to inclement weather, we’ve had a terrible time this year trying to get out for a run! At least it seems the weather may have turned with hot sunny days returning.
With Expo done for 2022 it’s now time for our volunteers lunch where we can show our appreciation to all who volunteered on the day and made this a very successful Expo. See you at the Easts Leagues Club, 40 Main Avenue, Coorparoo on Saturday November 5th at 12 midday for a delicious lunch. Please let our Secretary know if you are coming so we advise the venue of numbers.
Our next meeting for November will be a General Meeting where we need to raise a motion to address our banking details. We need to update the signatories on our accounts and the only way we can do this is to show our banks that this was discussed, voted on and minuted at a club general meeting. Please come along on Wednesday November 16th to make the numbers to pass such a motion.
The next club run scheduled for Sunday the 20th of November is now going to be a run to Gatton Transport Museum, let’s hope the weather will allow us to get there! November was scheduled to be to Tracey & Wayne’s Museum in Alexandra Hills but we will now plan that for early next year.
The Christmas party is fast approaching scheduled for Sunday December 11th from 11.30am at the Nudgee Golf Club. To secure your seat at this event please send $20 deposit per person attending to our secretary or treasurer, this money will be fully refunded when you attend the lunch. Make sure your payment mentions the Xmas party and your name so we can pay you back!
A thought was also raised that we try to incorporate more female friendly activities in club runs to make sure our ladies enjoy the days as much as us blokes who are just happy to drive their cars. I must mention that we do have ladies who drive their cars to our events as well, (Yvette and Amanda come to mind) just to cover all bases in this increasingly sensitive world we live in! I personally want to get a run soon where we can use the club trailer which has been refurbished and sits waiting at Bruce’s. A run to Colmslie early in 2023 would do just fine. If any member has any requests or suggestions, our run coordinator Luke O’Neill would love to hear from you.
As I sit here typing I have just returned home from Superformance in Capalaba where a few of us met early Sunday morning. As usual there was a comprehensive collection of cars at this monthly event. It was great to get the car out but even better to drive home in 30 plus degree heat with the air conditioner keeping me cool. I know I’m soft but I wouldn’t do without it now! I hope to see as many of you as possible to enjoy our upcoming events and more importantly getting out in your Chrysler vehicles, cheers for now.
